Wine Tasting Come join us for a glass of wine, good conversation and a cause worth talking about. Cocoon House will be hosting a wine tasting at WineStyles on Thursday, September 16 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.. Guests will be able to sample six different wines and a selection of hors d'oeuvres will be available for purchase. The experience will conclude with a full glass of their favorite wine of the evening. Two servings of beer or two nonalcoholic beverages are also available. For each $20 ticket sold, Cocoon House keeps $10. In addition, it earns 10 percent of the sales from the evening. Please support the Cocoon House by helping it raise funds to support its emergency shelter, long-term transitional housing, case management, advocacy, and prevention programs, all while raising a glass with good friends and colleagues. Play Ball and Support Cocoon House The Baseball Challenge is an annual event held during the summer. The goal is for recreational baseball players to have a great time playing baseball while raising funds for several fantastic charities. From 2004 until 2009 there were two charities involved, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington & Alaska and Cocoon House of Everett. In 2010 we have expanded to include I Love Baseball. Each charity will form a team and then the 4 teams will each play two games, one at 10AM and one at 1PM. We are currently looking for a 4th charity for this year so we can form 4 teams. Do you want to be on the Cocoon House team? Email our Captain, Jeff Grove. Each team member will create their own donation page on FirstGiving. Sign up by creating your own donation page today! Players must be at least 13 years old, able to play on a full-size field, and swing a wooden bat. Feel free to contact Jim Thompson, Cocoon House Director of Development and Community Relations with questions concerning sponsoring individual players or the event itself: Email Jim, or call (425) 259-3342. The annual Baseball Challenge is a worthwhile recreational baseball game promising fun for the entire family! Watch a great game of baseball while rooting for the Cocoon House team or sign-up to play in the game. Roster spots are available for any adult recreational players who are able to raise a minimum of $500. Please visit The Baseball Challenge for further details. |
