U-Turn Resource Center
U-Turn is a resource and drop in center for youth. U-Turn’s purpose is to establish and build relationships between street youth and Cocoon Advocates in order to prevent homelessness or help youth leave the streets. Services offered at U-Turn include but are not limited to:
- Case management
- Information and referral for housing, counseling, job readiness, crisis intervention
- Health care services and education: Substance Abuse, Sexual Violence, Prevention and Testing of STDs & HIV
- Employment: skills building and job search assistance
- Men’s room/Ladies room ----gender-specific discussion groups
- Providing necessities: Hygiene packets, socks, hats, gloves, food packets, etc.
- Games, movies, arts and crafts, a safe place to have fun
