Cocoon House is a private, non-profit organization that relies on the generosity of individuals, community organizations, foundations and corporations to carry out our work. Contributions to Cocoon House help us provide critical services to overcome and prevent youth homelessness. As we continue to grow and reach out to more teens and their families, so does our need for support. Your contribution will truly have a lasting positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged young people. We are very grateful for your support!

2010 Imagine the Possibilities Annual Fund Campaign:
Supporting our 2010 Imagine the Possibilities Annual Fund Campaign is a great way to help Cocoon House serve youth. These unrestricted donations ensure that Cocoon House can operate 24/7/365. The goal for this year's campaign is $100,000 - and with your help we can turn possibilities into realities. Please click here for additional information.
Vehicle Donations:
You can support homeless youth by donating your used car, SUV, truck, motorcycle, van, RV or boat to Cocoon House. All you have to do is contact Northwest Charity Donation Service at 1-800-961-6119. Just tell them you'd like the proceeds from your donation to benefit Cocoon House. Northest Charity Donation Service will assist you with determining the market value of your donation, pick it up free of charge, complete all DMV title transfers, furnish you with a receipt for tax purposes, and sell your vehicle on consignment. After your vehicle is sold, they send Cocoon House the proceeds. It's that simple.
Avoid the hassle of selling your used vehicle yourself and receive a tax deduction by donating to Cocoon House today! Click HERE to learn more!
Gifts of Stock:
When you make a gift of stock you are entitled to an income tax deduction based on the current market value of the stock at the time that you make the gift, and you may entirely avoid capital gains tax. We recommend that you consult your tax attorney or advisor for specific advice. Making a gift of stock is simple. First, let your broker know that you would like to donate stock to Cocoon House. Then you or your broker should notify Director of Development and Community Relations of your stock gift. Cocoon House will then take necessary steps to transfer and sell the stock. You will receive notification immediately following the sale of your stock.
Matching Gifts:
Many companies encourage philanthropy by offering matching gifts to employees who make a contribution or volunteer with a local organization. Please check with your Human Resources Department to see if your company participates in a matching gift program.
Workplace Giving:
Cocoon House participates in several workplace giving campaigns. Please consider us as you make your donations to United Way or other local workplace giving programs.
Planned Gifts:
By including Cocoon House in your long-term estate plans, you will create opportunities for disadvantaged young people to overcome adversity and reach their fullest potential. There are several approaches to planning the best gift for your situation and way of life. It is to your benefit to consult with a qualified estate planning attorney if you would like to make this type of gift. Cocoon House can also send you some materials on estate planning. Please contact James E. Thompson, Director of Development and Community Relations if you would like more information.
